1 Abstract

Long or Short ($LOS) is a skill-based crypto prediction game built on Solana. Players watch live crypto price charts and predict whether the price will go up (LONG) or down (SHORT) within 30 seconds.

The game launches in three phases:

Q1 2026 · Current

Demo Launch

Free-to-play with a demo balance of $1,000 per wallet. No real money, no token required. Build the game, test the mechanics, and grow the community.

Q2 2026 · Planned

Token + Leaderboard

$LOS launches on Pump.fun . The game stays in demo mode, but a competitive leaderboard goes live. Top-ranked players win $LOS prizes through giveaways and seasonal events.

Q3 2026 · Planned

Real Trading

Full $LOS wagering goes live. Every round is settled on-chain — winners paid from the dev wallet, losers' stakes to the dev wallet. Tournaments and seasonal competitions launch.

No house edge. No hidden fees. Odds reflect true market probability.

2 The Game

2.1 Round Structure

  • Each round lasts 30 seconds.
  • First 10 seconds — betting window open.
  • Last 20 seconds — chart continues, no new bets accepted.
  • At second 30, the round closes and settles instantly.

2.2 How to Win

  • At round start, the current price is recorded as the reference price.
  • At round close, the final price is compared to the reference:
Final > Reference
LONG wins
Final < Reference
SHORT wins
Final = Reference
Tie (full refund)

2.3 Dynamic Odds

Odds adjust in real time based on:

  1. Price momentum over the last 60 seconds.
  2. Move from reference — how far the price has drifted from the round start.
  3. Time pressure — odds become more extreme as the round nears its close.

Odds range: 1.03x to 15x per side.

Following the trend → lower payout
Going against the trend → higher payout

5 Game Economics

⚠️ The following economics apply starting Q3 2026. During Q1 and Q2, bets use fictional balance and have no monetary value.

5.1 Player vs. House

The game operates as a player-versus-house model. The house is the dev wallet.

Player bets X $LOS at odds O
    ↓
WIN → Dev wallet pays X × O to the player
LOSE → Player's X $LOS goes to the dev wallet
TIE → Player is refunded X $LOS

5.2 Why the Dev Wallet Holds a Large Supply

The dev wallet is the game bankroll — equivalent to the "house" in a casino. It holds a large $LOS supply for three reasons:

1

Guaranteed payouts

Every winning bet is paid instantly. A large reserve ensures winners are always paid, at any time, without delay.

2

Absorbing variance

Even with fair odds, short streaks of player wins can occur. A large bankroll absorbs these swings without running dry.

3

Bootstrapping liquidity

At launch, no players hold $LOS. The dev wallet provides initial liquidity so the game runs from day one.

5.3 Transparent by Design

The dev wallet's holdings are publicly visible on the Pump.fun pool. Anyone can verify:

  • How much $LOS the dev wallet holds.
  • How it changes over time based on game outcomes.

No hidden supply. No locked allocations. Everything is on-chain.

5.4 Fair Odds

Odds reflect true market probability:

SituationLong OddsShort Odds
50 / 502.00x2.00x
60 / 401.67x2.50x
90 / 101.11x10.00x

There is no artificial house edge. A perfectly neutral player base leaves the dev wallet roughly unchanged over time.

5.5 Exposure Cap

A maximum payout per round is enforced to prevent catastrophic losses. Excess bets above the cap are partially refunded. The cap value is published on the website.

The server relays prices, manages rounds, validates bets, and orchestrates settlements. Solana handles on-chain $LOS transfers starting Phase 3.

7 Fairness & Security

  • No custody. Private keys never leave the player's Phantom wallet.
  • Message-sign only. Login uses SIWS — no key exposure, no seed phrase.
  • Live price feed. Prices sourced from Binance and independently verifiable.
  • Server-authoritative. Odds and settlement computed server-side; clients only render.
  • Betting window closes 20 seconds before settlement.
  • One bet per player, per round, per market.
